With 3 on the go, growing boys, snacks are a frequent part of our lives. Keeping the boys fueled for their action packed days of learning, playing and practicing is a challenge sometimes. We don’t always have time to prepare from scratch treats and convenience is important when time is of the essence.
We recently got to try out something new and super yummy, that is delicious and nutritious. Slammers snacks are more than just an applesauce pouch. They are portable, packable superfoods for growing bodies!
Offering my boys Slammers Snacks in their lunches and afterschool is a great way to give them a serving of fruits, veggies and vitamins in one easy to easy and totally enjoyable package. There are several flavors available and my boys loved them all.
I loved them too because I could give them a treat when we are the busiest without turning to junk food. I had no mom guilt over this option, and the boys had no complaints about the snack option either.
Slammers Snacks are available in flavors like Epic, which is mango, carrot, orange and greek yogurt. Awesome flavor is a berry, banana, beet and acai blend that smells amazing. Chill’n has yumberry, yogurt, butternut squash, blueberries and bananas. As you can tell, Slammers Snacks are packed with good stuff for growing bodies, or anyone looking for healthier on the go options.
These are perfect for a lunch box, a quick pick me up in the car after school, or as an addition to breakfast. These are so nutritious and delicious kids or adults would welcome a Slammers Snack any time or place.
Slammers Snacks are one of our favorite ways to eat better on the go. Do you think your family would like Slammers Snacks as an addition to their routines?
As we get into our back to school routines for the year, I find myself already tired of one all-important task. Lunch duty! With 3 always hungry boys in the house, packing lunches and adequate snacks to hold them over after school can become quite a task!
This year, I am saying no to the loaded with sugar options on the shelves in favor of a flavorful alternative that all three of my boys love, Capri Sun Sport Drink Pouches. I love that these are super convenient for my kids, contain no preservatives and are a special blend of water and electrolytes for active kids on the go.
My kids have no idea that these are a great option to keep them going, they just know they satisfy their craving for a sweet and fruity drink! I love that I can say yes to their cravings with less guilt and absolutely no fussing with Capri Sun Sport Pouches.
Let me tell you a little more about why I love these drink pouches for my family.
They have 20 percent less sugar and 25 percent fewer calories than the leading regular sports drinks formulated for adults. They are made with no high-fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. They come in three delicious flavors: Citrus Rush, Fruit Frenzy, and Grape Blast
This year, packing a great lunch or offering a great afterschool snack is easier than ever with the great assortment of flavors in the Capri Sun Sports line. These are also great options for when it is your turn to provide the snack after practice or the big game. I love that they have all of the flavor kids crave with so much less sugar! Have you tried these yet and which is your family’s favorite flavor? If not, what are you waiting for? You can find Capri Sun Sport Pouches at retailers nationwide.

Valentine’s Day wouldn’t be the same without the classics! Every year that I can remember has been sweeter with Brach’s Conversation Hearts. As a child, I would analyze the messages and decide who should get what phrase. As I grew up, I loved to try to spot new messages on my Brach’s hearts.
Now I am a mom and a wife, but Valentine’s Day still has the same sweet traditions with Brach’s. Every year I give my boys a box and sit back with my own classic snack. The boys love to analyze the messages and snicker at them while I reminisce over the conversation heart messages of my past. Brach’s are for more than just sharing in a box! Over the years I have found so many cute and creative ways to incorporate Brach’s Conversation Hearts in my sweet treats for the holiday.
If you are a busy mom like me, you might like a few of my ideas that make use of Conversation Hearts! With Valentine’s Day parties coming up and the kids being older I am searching for the perfect treats to send to school with them this year. That’s when I know I can rely on Brach’s® candy to help me prepare treat bags for the boys’ classmates.
A cup of pudding can become a declaration of love. On busy days in February, I like to sprinkle a few select hearts onto a cup of vanilla pudding for a love note the boys can eat. You know that they say the way to the heart is thru the tummy; this easy snack idea sends the love to the tummy in a sweet way!
Baked goods are pretty sweet as is; but adding a classic like Brach’s conversation hearts adds flavor, color, and sweet sentiments. Baked from scratch, or straight out of a box, adding Brach’s Conversation Hearts adds a sweet sentiment to any baked good!
If you don’t have time to decorate, adding a few conversation hearts to cupcake icing, or even just sprinkling them around your tablescape takes the decorating to a sweet level.
Classic candies like Brach’s Conversation Hearts makes the holiday sweeter, with tradition and a mix of pop culture from the messages printed on them, you can’t go wrong at Valentine’s Day with America’s classic heart candy!
Do you have a tradition of gifting Brach’s Conversation Hearts? I would love to hear more about how they make your Valentine’s Day sweeter.
When Valentine’s Day rolls around, I naturally start thinking about treats, roses, cards and all things sweet. They really make it hard to resist getting in the spirit of things! Everything I see in stores or online is cuter than the last!
With three school aged kids, I have to prepare myself for the classroom parties; there are cards to address, awesome Valentine boxes to construct and of course, goodies to share! In years past I made printable treat bag toppers, and whipped up one of a kind snacks to send to school. But this year is a little different.
This year, instead of losing sleep, or feeling like I have let the boys down, I am going to turn to a trusted favorite brand and let Voortman‘s treats do the sweet talking for me.
Voortman’s cookies are a pantry staple at my house. My boys love them as an afternoon snack and you can’t go wrong with a cookie for dessert. On busy nights, I thank my lucky stars for a brand we can all agree on, and feel satisfied with.
My favorite flavors for Valentine’s Day include Chocolate Chip cookies, Fudge Coated Caramel Wafers, Chocolate Salted Caramel Wafers, and Chocolate Raspberry Wafers.
To make the process simple this year the boys and I decided to send a few packages of Chocolate Chip Cookies to the class for a treat during the party. Everyone loves a good chocolate chip cookie and going with a classic flavor from a trusted brand means everyone can indulge.
But, what about the treat to send home with classmates? Sure I could go with a bag of suckers or even a trinket like a pencil, but kids don’t really want pencils and we all know that the boys will bring home a handful of suckers and other candies from their parties. We thought it over and decided to make a snack bags.
These unique and tasty flavors are perfect for sharing. They are also a lot more gratifying to snack on than a lollipop!
This year, if you are short on time, or maybe not into baking so much, follow my lead. Head to the nearest grocery store and stock up on Voortmans cookies. They are the perfect way to share a smile this Valentine’s Day.
One of my favorite places to go when in Augusta, Georgia is the Bonefish Grill. As we all know seafood is healthy and delicious, but in my opinion it is even better when I can step out of my kitchen and step into a comfortable place, where everyone feels like a friend who is ready to make me feel at home!
I love how Bonefish Grill has an intimate setting while having a one of a kind big city vibe. When you crave a delicious dinner of seafood or steak, this is the place to get it. With menu offerings like The Neighborhood catch which consists of Swordfish topped with sautéed spinach, jumbo lump crabmeat, and topped with lime tomato garlic sauce, or Kung Pao Monkfish, it is easy to see why people gather at the Bonefish Grill for a great meal in a comfortable setting.
When I visit the Bonefish Grill in Augusta I know I am going to get excellent service. The staff is attentive and helpful and it doesn’t feel like visiting a chain restaurant. It feels like you are visiting a local gem; where everyone gathers for spirits and a meal they can indulge in.
While I probably wouldn’t take my boys along for dinner, as the menu is filled with offerings for an adult palate, which makes this a go-to date night destination for my husband and I. With so many mouth-watering menu options like that Monkfish I mentioned earlier, which has been coined poor mans lobster, and a slew of boozy drinks to help take the edge off. We always start off with one of our favorites the Bang Bang Shrimp. Not sharing this delicious dining gem with the kids isn’t a bad thing; when I come here I feel like I am ready to be dined and let my hair down for quiet conversation and a chance to take the edge that mom life sometimes leaves, off.
The Bonefish Grill would be an excellent place to gather for brunch with your girlfriends and enjoy a wood grilled fish meal that everyone will rave about for weeks to come.
As we will be heading back to the Bonefish Grill in Augusta soon for a romantic night out, I want to hear what your go-to menu item is so I can try something new! What entree do you prefer and what is your favorite drink? I am crazy for the Kung Pao Monkfish and the Winter White Cosmo. I can’t wait to try one of your recommendations!
With the holidays here shopping for loved ones is in full swing! If you have a health-conscious friend or family member or fitness buff these items might be a perfect stocking stuffer or gift. Protein cookies, smoothie bowl lovers, popcorn lovers and more. Below is a variety of healthy snack options for you and your family to enjoy, or for gift ideas.
With having my son I like to have items that will fuel my body and give me the energy I need to stay up with him. I also want nutritious foods on hand for him to snack on throughout the day. These items below are great for anyone in the family, and I loved all of them so much.
I got a variety of items from no-nut butter, popcorn, protein cookies, crips, and more. It gave me a lot of variety to try items that might become a new staple for our home. The no-nut butter was a huge hit. Clay gobbled them up on toast! I even sprinkled some granola on top and he loved the crunch added to it.
The Sneaky Chef No-Nut Butter is made from nutty and naturally sweet golden peas. They don’t contain any nuts like peanuts, trees, seeds, or soy. They are great for anyone who has food allergies, and the flavor is delicious. Dip fresh veggies in it, or top on your morning bagel or toast.
We were sent a bunch of Wicked Crisps. They are a crunchy flavorful crisp that is seasoned with herbs, spices, and vegetables. They come in seven delicious flavors like Cheesy Cheese Pizza, Spinach Parmesan, Spring Vegetable Medley, Sweet Potato Soufflé and Red Curry Hummus. They are great because they have a good amount of protein and your getting vegetables as well. They are made without GMO’s, gluten, and they are all organic.
If you love smoothies or even smoothie bowls this Banana Wave bananamilk is a must. It gives you that creamy texture that is nutrient filled! It is made from banana puree and one serving contains as much potassium as a small banana, 29 different vitamins and minerals, and more. This is a vegan and all natural.
My husband is a huge popcorn fan, sometimes he will eat it almost every night for an evening snack. Nature’s Crush Microwave Popcorn adds real herbs and spices to dress up that popcorn. It is made with no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. This is a great snack, pack for lunches, or for when guest arrive.
The Whey2be.com! Protein Cookies won our hearts over. They are all natural cookies that are jam-packed with protein! They come in five different flavors, the cran-orange white chocolate really fits into the holiday flavors I was craving. Each cookie has 20 grams of protein and taste like a decadent cookie. Great for eating on the go, after a workout, or any other time you get a craving.
I hope this has opened your eyes to other food options to try, and can really give you inspiration for healthy snack options for the whole family. They make great gifts!
