Summer is the perfect time to whip up some patriotic food! This Patriotic Red, White, and Blue Oreo Cookie recipe might be at the top of your list of things to make for your next gathering or party! Red, White & Blue Oreo Cookies

  • 1 bag of white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 package of double stuffed oreos
  • 1 container of patriotic sprinkles
  • 1 tub of blue cookie icing
  • 1 tub of red cookie icing
  • 1 cookie sheet
  • parchment paper fitted to the cookie sheet
  • Double boiler


Fill the bottom of the double boiler half way with water.

Place it on the stove at medium to high heat and wait for it to boil.

Place the second pot on top of the bottom pot.

Pour in the bag of the white chocolate into the top pot.

Using a rubber spatula, mix until the chocolate is melted.

Dip a Oreo into the chocolate.

Using a fork, coat the oreo in the chocolate until fully coated and use the fork to lift the oreo out of the chocolate.

Lightly tap the edge of the pot so that the extra chocolate can drip off.

Place oreo on to the cookie sheet.

Repeat steps with the remaining oreo's until all of the chocolate is used.

Let the oreos set for 10 minutes before decorating.

Take the blue icing and drizzle over the oreos.

Take the red icing and drizzle over the oreos.

Sprinkle a tiny amount of the patriotic sprinkles on to the oreos.

Let sit for another 10-15 minutes before enjoying!

It captures the fun of patriotic food with something sweet! These Patriotic Flip Flop Cookies are going to steal the show at your next gathering and make everyone smile at the sight of them! These are cute and not at all complicated to make! I have a feeling you will want to make these all summer long, in honor of your sweet tooth and favorite pair of flip flops!

Patriotic Red, White & Blue Flip Flop Cookies

Gather around with family and friends to celebrate the 4th of July with these Patriotic Flip Flop Shaped Cookies. Everyone will be raving about how tasty and cute they are.

    For the Cookies
  • 3 C flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 C soft unsalted butter
  • 1 C granulated sugar
  • 1 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • For the Icing
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 C powder sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 piping bag with a number 2 tip
  • 2 bowl to thin the icing
  • 2 squeeze bottles
  • Patriotic Star sprinkles (separate the white stars)
  • 1 Super Red Icing
  • 1 Sky Blue Icing


For the Cookies

Cream the soft butter with the sugar until the combination is smooth not grainy to the touch in a mixing bowl.

Add egg and continue to mix.

Add the vanilla. Continue mixing.

Sift flour, baking soda, and salt together.

Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture.

Continue mixing to make sure all ingredients are thoroughly blended.

Make the dough into a ball, wrap it in cling wrap completely covering the entire dough ball.

Put in the refrigerator for about 6 hours or overnight. Check to see if the dough is firm.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Pull the cookie dough out of the refrigerator and sit it out to soften up a bit.

Sprinkle flour out on the cutting board, rub flour on the rolling pin, and work some flour into the batter. (If needed)

Roll the dough out on the cutting board and using the cookie cutter begin to make your cookies.

Line the cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Using a metal spatula move the cut cookies to the parchment lined cookiesheet.

Place the cookies on the baking sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 8 minutes.

Let cool for 10 minutes before decorating.

For the Icing

Combine all ingredients, except the colors, into a stand up mixing bowl

If the icing looks a little soupy add in 1/2 C powder sugar

mix on medium speed until stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes

Split the icing into three bowls

Add a few drops of Super Red food dye into 1 bowl

If you dont like the shade of the color, add 1-2 more drops

Add a few drops of sky blue into the second bowl

Leave the 3rd bowl white.

Scoop some of the icing into the three piping bags

Using the remaining icing in the red and white bowls, add 2 TBSP water into the bowls to thin out the icing.

Pour the thinned icing into the squeeze bottles.

Decorating the Cookies

Divide the flip flop cookies in half.

Using the first half cookies, outline them using the white icing.

Take the red icing and pipe in lines to make red strips.

Fill in the red icing lines with the thinner red icing.

Let sit for 30 minutes before adding the white.

While those cookies are drying, take the other blank cookies and pipe red lines around the edges.

Fill in the cookie with the red thinner icing.

Using the white icing, add polka dots to the cookie while the red icing is wet.

Let sit for two hours.

Take the thinner white icing and fill in the blanks on the stripped flip flops.

Let those rest for two hours.

Once the cookies are dry, using the blue icing in the piping bag, pipe on a line and then place a white star sprinkle in the middle on the top.

Let sit for 30 minutes before enjoying!

Broccoli Ranch and Bacon Pasta Salad

Enjoy this delicious broccoli ranch pasta salad at your next gathering. It is super easy to throw together last minute or plan ahead for a crowd pleasing side dish.

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 10 slices bacon, cooked, and chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded colby jack cheese
  • 1/2 can peas
  • 8 oz pasta shells, cooked
  • Dressing:
  • 2/3 cup mayo
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp. Ranch dressing mix


In a large bowl, add chopped broccoli, chopped bacon, whole cherry tomatoes, shredded colby jack cheese, peas and cooked pasta shells.

In a separate small bowl, add mayo, milk and 2 tablespoons of dry Ranch dressing mix.

Whisk until all ingredients are combined.

Slowly pour the dressing mix into the pasta bowl.

Toss to combine.

Add more dressing as needed.

  • Uncle Sam Cupcake Kit
  • White Cake Mix
  • Eggs
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Cupcake Icing
  • Cherry Pie Filling


After gathering all of your ingredients, you will first make the cake mix according to box directions.

Fill your cupcake wrappers a little over halfway full. Bake your cupcakes according to box directions.

Once your cupcakes are cool, use a coring tool (or use a knife if you don’t have one) to take the center out of your cupcakes.

Fill the center of your cupcakes with cherry pie filling. (blueberry would be awesome too!)

Pipe icing onto your cupcake.

Add the eyeballs and paper hat included in the Uncle Sam cupcake kit. Enjoy!
