Breakfast may be the most important meal of the day, but it sure seems to be the most rushed meal of the day too! Luckily for my 3 growing boys, we don’t have to be in a cereal rut anymore. With this incredibly easy and nutritious recipe for Instant Pot Steel Cut Oatmeal Breakfast bowl, you can have a hot breakfast on the table in just a few moments, even on the busiest of days. My family loves the texture of this recipe and I love how filling and flavorful it is without spending more than a few moments of time preparing it!
Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 25 minutes + time to come to pressure Serves: 4
1 c. fresh strawberries, hulled and cut into chunks
1 c. fresh blueberries rinsed and patted dry
1 c. steel cut oats
3¼ c. water
2 c. Greek or coconut yogurt
1½ T. chia seeds
1 T. real maple syrup, plus additional for serving
Spray the Instant Pot pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Add the steel cut oats and water and stir to combine. Cover with lid and lock into position, then flip the pressure valve to the “Sealing” position.
Press the “Manual” button and select the high heat setting.
Set cook time to 10 minutes.
Combine maple syrup, chia seeds, and yogurt in a small bowl.
When cook time is complete, turn off the Instant Pot to prevent burning. Allow pressure to release naturally for 15 minutes, and then do a quick release for any remaining pressure.
Carefully remove the lid and stir the contents to combine.
Pour oats to individual serving bowls, letting oats be on one side of the bowl and yogurt mixture on the other side.
*Optional* Spoon strawberries and blueberries between the two halves.
Serve immediately with additional maple syrup on the side, if desired. Enjoy!

Cinnamon, especially fresh ground, gives you a boost to your immune system but it also helps to regulate your blood sugar. Combined with the power of steel cut oatmeal you will be ready for the day.
Breakfast in a Jar
Sometimes you want something quick and easy that each member of the family can grab and go with. A breakfast in a jar is a great option and can be loaded up individually for each person. If one person loves avocado, then you can add it as a superfood boost. If another person prefers lots of vegetables, you can do that too. The basic recipe of the breakfast in a jar for the instant pot is to layer egg along with different ingredients in small mason jars. Leave the jars uncovered and start on high pressure for 5 minutes. You can replace traditional milk with coconut milk for more vitamins and minerals. It also removes the possible antibiotics that may be found in traditional whole milk recipes.

It’s the calm after the holiday storm…kind of nice, huh?As my boys get older, I take every chance I can to get them around the table. Breakfast is the time we get together every morning. However, my kids are not early risers, so I need to keep breakfast as simple as possible. I have noticed that eating breakfast together really helps our family bond. Here are some tips for keeping breakfast simple.
#1. Have a set time for breakfast.
In my home, we have breakfast at the same time, every morning. It is at 7 AM. My boys know to get up, get dressed, and head downstairs to the table for breakfast. This is something we have established over the years, so they know about it and have no problem showing up.
#2. Make sure you have supplies on hand.
When you’re setting a tradition of having breakfast together, you need to ensure you have the right supplies on hand. I never miss getting our breakfast groceries at the store. And if I do, you better believe I make a late-night run to stock up.
#3. Keep the menu simple.
I can tell you, from experience, that keeping the menu simple is super important. You don’t want to be up at 5 in the morning trying to make your family a gourmet breakfast. Keep things simple and you won’t regret it. Nothing is worth stressing yourself out over and you don’t want to make more work for yourself.
#4. Go with what you know.
In our household, we like to go with what you know. For years, we have enjoyed eating our favorite breakfast foods together. One of our favorite foods to eat for breakfast is cold cereal Big G Cereals at Publix. These cereals have been a staple at our table for years! Some of our favorites include Cheerios, Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, and Tiny Toast. My personal favorites are Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. We rely on Big G cereals from Publix to help jumpstart our schedule and you can too. Getting back into a schedule after holiday break was the worse.

A meal that is often forgotten about is breakfast. You and your family need to eat a nutritious breakfast, even on your busiest morning. Luckily, the following grab-and-go breakfast ideas are both easy to prepare and can be very healthy. Even as a busy mom, you can prepare the following grab-and-go breakfasts.
An easy way to have breakfast ready for the entire week is by making a healthy bread loaf that has lots of fruit and nuts in it. This is a lot healthier than making a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread, which might be delicious, but doesn’t contain as many nutrients. You can try a loaf with fig and almonds, or go for a multi-berry loaf with applesauce and walnuts.
2. Protein or Breakfast Bars
Breakfast bars are great when you are really low on time, but you don’t want to hand your children a Pop-Tart when they leave the house. Breakfast bars and protein bars tend to have more vitamins and minerals, plus extra protein to keep your family energized for the day. You can also make your own with just a few simple ingredients.
Smoothies are not only healthy and easy to make but with the right bottle, can be something anyone in your family can bring with them on a busy morning. You can even prepare some of the ingredients the night before, such as chopping up and freezing fruit and putting them in serving-size baggies. In the morning, all you have to do is grab those baggies and add them to the blender with milk and yogurt, and you have yourself a healthy smoothie.
Believe it or not, it is actually quite easy to have healthier versions of the breakfast sandwiches you usually get from a fast food drive-thru. You can prepare them ahead of time as well, which saves you, even more, time on busy mornings. Make the eggs ahead of time by putting an egg into individual muffin tins, then baking them until the eggs are cooked. Now get out whole wheat or whole grain English muffins and put the egg on top, with a slice of cheese and anything else you like. Wrap up each sandwich individually and pop it in the freezer. In the morning, you can hand one to each family member to heat up or let defrost until they are ready to eat breakfast.
5. Homemade Granola
Finally, don’t forget about granola! This is a healthy snack or breakfast to make for your family and is easy for them to bring along on busy mornings. You can make the granola with your choice of nuts, grains, dried fruit, and other ingredients, then put it in individual baggies. In the morning, they can grab a bag of granola to munch on or add it to some yogurt.
