This past week I had some time and I went into the office and did a little crafting I had been wanting to do. I grabbed our old milk can and added a personalized address marker on it with some paint from DecoArt!
I absolutely love to craft, and I am always on the hunt for fun and new crafts to do. I have had this milk can for years, my dad either gave it to me or I found it at a yard sale. It has been so long ago I can’t remember. I have wanted to do something with it for awhile but I didn’t want to get rid of that rust, I love the rusty look. We live in the country so it fits perfectly with our style.
I got a bunch of paint from DecoArt, it was like winning the lottery! Look at all these gorgeous colors and even check out their metallic colors! I also got some stencils as well, and one set was numbers. I thought to create this fun personalized address marker using the stencil and the paint I was sent. I have a few more Christmas crafts I want to do as well! The one thing I learned early on is you want to have quality paint when you craft.
High-Quality Paint When You Craft Is A Must
What I did was cleaned the milk jug really well, and then cut the stencil out and then used painters tape to stick the stencil on to the milk can. Then grabbed a sponge brush and some paint, I chose to use white. Then dabbed it on and wrote out the numbers to our address. It was so easy to do, I had made this within 30 minutes of starting! It really helps the milk can stand out and matches the trim of our home.
I went ahead and cut out my numbers so I could easily stick them on to the milk can. They are nice and sturdy and it worked perfectly. I let the paint dry just a little and then very easily untaped the stencil.
I have to say I am very happy with how it turned out. I need to get some mums and put out to add some color! Those pumpkins are what my son painted for Halloween! I am excited to use the Stencils and DecoArt paint for more holiday inspired crafts for decorating my home. If you love to craft you will find they sell high-quality products that are great for any crafter!
