If you are just joining us I am a member of Netflix Stream Team, where I received a subscription and device where I can stream the latest movies and T.V. shows that I can share with you.
Who knew parenting would be so hard? I’m a mom of three boys which means pretty much-taking care of them and making sure my house is still standing at the end of the day is a top priority. But there are times I need a much-needed break because I not only need it, I deserve it.
You see I am not alone, 97% of moms say that they had more time for themselves before motherhood, and now, 71% of moms admit to sneaking in TV “me-time” while juggling a busy schedule, with some even hiding from their kids for just a moment of peace. With moms doing it anywhere and everywhere when the kids aren’t around, sneaking is the new bingeing.
If anyone questions your motives, let them know that according to a recent Netflix survey moms are feeling less stressed and more refreshed and even 19% say it makes them feel like a better parent by sneaking “me-time.” And dads, don’t feel left out. We know you need a break to sneak too.
I find myself sneaking away more often than not. Sometimes I just need a break from all the chaos of being a referee, maid, cook, taxi, mom, wife, and I could keep going on. We all deserve a break from our main role as a parent and that doesn’t mean we are not good parents or we do not love our children. We need a break so that we can continue to be the loving parents we are. So taking some time to sneak in some bingeing is a totally amazing idea. I found out when I take a some “me-time” I feel like I am a better parent all the way around. I don’t snap as easily as if I am tired and just want a minute to myself, but finding that time to sneak away you would be surprised where I will break out Netflix.
Did you know that doing household chores like a load of laundry and cooking are the most common ways moms get in TV “me-time” while multitasking? But the sneaks don’t stop there. Nowhere is off limits for moms to find time to stream from taking breaks while working from home, sitting in a parking lot, running “errands” and sitting in the driveway.
I am guilty of these:
Yes, I take my tablet or phone with me to the bathroom to watch House of Cards or Orange is the new Black.
When school is in full swing I dread the waiting car lines so I use my cell phone to pull up the Netflix App and watch my favorite show to pass the time. It’s the best time because it’s quiet, no one is calling my name a million times, and I am destressing before picking up the kids.
Yes, I work out by walking with my ear buds in and listening to my favorite show. I can also prop my tablet up while on the treadmill or stationary bike and still watch my shows. The options are endless.
We all have places to go, people to see and shows to watch. With the kids around all summer long wanting mom, finding a moment of solace can seem impossible—but you just have to get creative. Check out this road map where moms are sneaking in their TV “me-time” away from the little ones both in their homes and all over town.
Where does your sneaking routine fit on the map?
