Life of a Southern Mom recently had the pleasure of partnering with Mission Belt on a review of their “No Holes” belt. If you haven’t heard of Mission Belt, you should really check them out. They are a very cool business with their hearts in giving back. For every single belt sold, Mission Belt donates a dollar to a micro lending organization to help in the fight against poverty and world hunger. This is done by supporting entrepreneurs in acquiring loans so that these individuals can create jobs and support their families. It truly is a unique way of giving back. Now that you know this is a company worth supporting, let’s find out more about their products. Mission Belt not only has a unique way of being socially responsible, they also have a unique product. The main feature that you will notice when first examining each belt is that it has no holes. Instead, it uses a ratchet like mechanism to tighten.
My husband found the black belt with Iron buckle to be a very pleasant belt to wear. It looks very clean and classy because it does not have any holes in it. He definitely liked how easy it was to put on by simply sliding the end into the buckle until the correct level of tightness is attained. However, there is a catch, literally. In order to remove the belt, there is a lever on the bottom of the belt buckle that must be flipped away from the body to loosen the belt. This is a very smooth operation and can be done quite discretely if needed. For example, Thanksgiving is coming up and imagine the ease of flipping a switch and loosening your belt. It is certainly easier and less noticeable than a traditional belt.
Now, I will tell you a funny story. I had received this belt in the mail and wanted to check it out. So, unbeknownst to my husband, I actually tried on the belt myself. It was too large for me, but it did give me an idea of how it worked. I then went to take it off and realized I did not know how to take it off and my husband was going to be walking in the door any minute. Now, had I put this belt on while wearing some jeans and actually put it through the belt loops, that would have been one thing, but no. No, I had just put the belt around my waist while wearing a pair of shorts with an elastic waistband. Yes, it looked ridiculous and I could not decipher how to take it off just by looking at the buckle. Fortunately, the instructions included were incredibly easy to follow and I was able to get that belt off in a jiffy, my husband none the wiser.
Here are some other things about this belt, which I think are pretty neat. All of the belts are made of leather. I could tell as soon as I cracked that box open that we had the real deal. Speaking of cracking, Mission Belt also has a Crack Free Guarantee on their leather, so you know you’re getting quality.
The buckles on the belt are interchangeable. We don’t currently have another buckle, but it is a pretty innovative idea. It allows you to look professional for work but then you could change it out for your your football team’s color, to match accessories better (think switching silver to gold), or just for the heck of it. It also allows you to switch your favorite buckle from your black belt to your brown one, as the mood strikes you. Take a look at all the belt and buckle color options here.
This is a fantastic gift this holiday season. Not only is it a great gift for men (who are so hard to shop for in the first place), but they also have belts for kids and women! You can feel confident in purchasing from Mission Belt because you will be assured a high quality, leather belt with no holes that looks amazing. If that’s not enough, remember that a dollar from every belt purchased is going to charity! Win win! Pick up a belt for the holidays by clicking here.
