Seriously, folks, you’ve got to love a cookbook that allows you to cook one time and construct two more meals from cleverly disguised leftovers. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve looked up and the clock says 5pm and I don’t have a clue what I’m putting on the table for supper. Consequently, we eat a lot of pasta or soups and sammies. Nutritious, yeah. Boring, you betcha. Life of a Southern Mom was recently given the opportunity to work with Houts & Home to review their Mealtime Magic Cook Book.
Mealtime Magic is an ingenious cook book that solves every housewives biggest kitchen dilemma: “What the heck am I going to fix for dinner tonight?” Written by Amy Houts from Houts & Home, Mealtime Magic, provides you with over 200 pages of mouthwatering, tried and true recipes, that are sure to please even the pickiest eaters in your home. From Chicken and Dumplings to Betty’s Spaghetti and Stacked Enchiladas, this amazing book is a multicultural gateway to meals that represent the diversity of American tastes. Taco Tuesday becomes fun again with recipes like Nine Mile High Tostados. Even boring old Pasta night becomes new again with mouthwatering recipes like Easy Lasagna! The absolute best part about Mealtime Magic is that everything you need to make the delicious meals within are already in your pantry or can be picked up at your local grocery store! No need to hunt around for exotic ingredients you’ve never heard of.
Well, maybe that’s not the best part but it sure does come close. After purchasing Mealtime Magic I think a lot of folks would argue that the best part is all the money they’ll be saving. Utilizing the recipes in MM can save you..a whopping $500 a year! With grocery store prices doubling and actual product size decreasing daily an average savings of $500 a year is absolutely amazing. You really can’t beat it. What I love most about this cookbook is that it is made with a very sturdy, thick spiral binding to hold pages easily in place and has glossy pages that resist stains and it can easily be wiped off and plus it has at the end of each section a “My Family Favorite” where you can easily write your family favorites from those dishes with page numbers so that you can refer back to it very easily. There is also a small part at the bottom of the page where you can write additional notes if needed. Having a picky eater, one who eats like a bird and the other who eats most of everything sometimes can be a struggle to find something each of them will try and eat. With the Mealtime Magic Cookbook there are kid-friendly recipes that helps make planning dinner much easier and no I don’t have to spend my evenings asking what everyone wants for dinner. I love everything about this cookbook and look forward to trying more of these meal plans and dinner ideas with my family.
