Life of a Southern Mom had the wonderful opportunity to work with Kigo and review one of their products. Kigo was born from sore feet that had been inside heavy boots all day. A husband and wife teams wanted a shoe that was simple, minimalist and that was designed with the environment in mind every step of the way beginning with the construction. Marco and Kristin wanted your feet to be protected but they also did not want you to feel like your feet were being constricted by lots of material and weight. All-day comfort starts in your feet, and they knew that. By making their shoes out of recycled and recyclable materials, they had a goal in mind that Kigos shoes would never end up in a landfill. The couple has a passion for the Earth and the comfort of your feet. They continue to create and innovate by partnering with companies and customers who share the same ideals and visions that they do. Everyone can have an active lifestyle if they want to without leaving behind a footprint that is heavy on the Earth!

I don’t think there is a person on the planet, including children, that do not just love a new and different pair of shoes. I am always on the lookout for new styles to share with you all and definitely found it with Kigo Footwear. I received the Kigo Flit in Black/Grey to review and they are absolutely awesome. The saying on their website is “A Bulldog In Ballerina Clothes” and the slogan is oh so fitting. These shoes are designed with comfort and durability in mind but have the cuteness of a ballet flat. These shoes let you connect with the ground in a way that has been talked about by lots of brands. A natural fit has been talked up to be the best way to support your feet in a shoe, but don’t you want to look cute doing what’s best?

Kigos promote balance and proprioception, facilitating improved posture and performance. That’s a lot of big words meaning that you will improve on what is important for your body by wearing really comfortable and supportive shoes. They are also super cute which is a winning combination in my book. You can feel good about making the choice to get Kigos and the flit style is absolutely as “green” of a choice as they come.

These shoes weigh around 5 ounces per shoe. Think light! The shaping of them is designed to be anatomically like your foot, so you will get a fit that feels as natural as can be. The wide toe box is also nice because not everyone has a skinny front foot. You may look at them and think of slippers but I guarantee that they have an outsole that will grip just as well as any of your other outdoor shoes. And for those that worry about width in a shoe shaped like a ballet flat, they also have an adjustable elastic panel in strap. You can rest your mind in thinking that you will not be able to have these shoes fit perfectly to your foot as much as they will fit perfectly on the person that may be standing next to you.

Before I mentioned that they are a “green” shoe, and I will explain what I mean by that. The whole construction of the shoe is made with recycled and recyclable materials.

Feel good about your choice! The kigo flit is as green as they come. You can read up on all the parts on the links provided:
