Down in the South, game day isn’t just another ordinary day, it’s a way of life. Every college game day, we start prepping pretty early in the morning for all of that day’s food and drinks. Whenever we prep, we always shop at Kroger for the big game. You might be wondering why I shop with Kroger? Well, I can get everything I need in a moment’s notice and I only have to make one stop! I don’t have to go to multiple stores to find what I’m looking for. We LOVE football and spending the day together as a family. It can be difficult to know how to put a game day celebration together that everyone loves, however, that’s my specialty and I’m excited to share with you how to make the day extra special.

#1. Lots of food.

You can’t call it College game day in the south without tons of great food. I actually take requests from my kids and hubby for game day. They tell me what foods they would like for that game and if I can make it, I do. They appreciate the special foods and I love making it for them. The recipe I made for a recent game was Buffalo Chicken Pasta Salad. This recipe is absolutely delicious and is great for game day. We love to have spicy things on game day and this Buffalo Chicken Pasta Salad recipe paired with Dr Pepper® is a must.

#2. Lots of Dr Pepper® & great foods.

There is only room for one drink in this household on game day and that’s Dr Pepper®! Every game day I head to Kroger and stock up on our favorite drink. It’s always been a tradition in our household because it’s our favorite beverage. There’s just something about the taste that makes it the perfect game day drink! Not only do we have Dr Pepper® as our favorite drink on game day, I love to pair it with a good recipe.

#3. Family time.

As you know, family time is so limited nowadays! It’s so important to spend time together as a family. My little family knows that game day is family day. We all sit down and watch the game together and we all love it. I love taking lots and lots of pictures. It is fun to look back on all of the game days we have had together as a family and how it has made us lots of positive memories. I encourage you to do the same. It’s a fun time to watch the game, but it’s also fun to all be in the same room together.

#4. A little rivalry.

A way we have fun on game day is by showing our team spirit. We LOVE to showcase our favorite teams by wearing jerseys and painting our faces. If any of our friends love the other teams, we love inviting them over for a little game day rivalry. Trust me, this makes the game even more fun! The kids love having people over and it’s just a good day all around. When it comes to football, the more people we have over, the better!

Here is my famous Buffalo Chicken Pasta Salad recipe we get to enjoy on college game day.

The pasta can be served right away or chilled. It is really personal preference. If making it ahead, reserve some buffalo and ranch sauce to mix in before serving. Some pasta salad can become a bit dry after sitting over night.
