Simply Southern Couponers has had the opportunity to work with Giani. I picked out the Chocolate Brown Granite Counter Top Paint Kit since our floors are a dark grey and brown tile. I have always wanted a granite counter top and couldn’t wait to give this a try. Its water-based so its low in odor so its safe to use around kids. It also hides any existing stains and scratches, and with kids there are bound to be scratches. Giani also includes a ‘paint-by-number’ so the process is very easy and can be done by beginning painters.

I loved how easy this whole process was. Giani included everything that I needed and told my step by step when I needed to do what and how long to let it set. When I first started, I though to my self, now how is this going to look like granite because it was just splotchy white paint at the time. I started adding layers of colors and it started coming together. When it was done, I was able to go back over and look through to see if anywhere needed a splosh of color and added what and where I saw fit.

It didn’t take long either, after letting the primer sit for 8 hours, the sponge paint for 4 hours and then letting each layer of top coat sit for 4 hours (total of 12 hours), total time was only 24 hours!! You can’t even get a granite counter top installed in that amount of time.

If you are looking to redo your counter tops, I suggest doing them yourself and buying from Giani. This whole kit cost less than $100!
