Easy exercises for busy moms

Being a mom is a full-time job and a lot of moms do not have the time to go work out. Here are a few easy ways to get your work outs done without taking time away from your kids!

~If your kids are into dancing.. dance with them. My girls are really getting into dancing so when we get done with breakfast we do what Yo Gabba Gabba says and “Get Our Sillies Out” I turn the tv on to a music channel and we dance around acting silly. You would be surprised to know that after only 4 songs you have burned 215 calories!

~Make doing crunches a learning experience. To help teach my youngest her numbers every time I come up we count it out loud.. she loves saying her numbers and seeing all the funny faces mommy makes. Aubreigh will sit on my feet and tell me her ABC’s while I do crunches. That is 36 crunches and burn about 12 calories a minute but they tone up the stomach muscle.

~ You know how you grab as many groceries as you can and make as few trips as you can? Stop!! This is an awesome exercise. Grab 1 – 2 bags in each hand and walk on up the stairs. This is basically a full body workout and is considered an intense exercise and can burn anywhere from 100-300 calories! Great way to work off that lunch!

~Last but not least, run around the house chasing your kids! They will get a kick out of it and you can get toned up. I play TAG and chasing around a 3 and 4-year-old for about an hour burns off around 175 calories.

Even though I am a stay at home mom, I still don’t have the time to go to the gym. Doing simple exercises every day like the ones above has started toning me up and getting me back in shape.

There is an amazing Pedometer App called Runtastic. This is what I use and it tells me how many steps I have taken and how many calories I have burned.
