Life of a Southern Mom recently had the pleasure of partnering with SCOTTeVEST on a review of one of their incredible clothing items. SCOTTeVEST is a company designed by a gadget lover who also enjoys traveling. Since he wanted a way to carry, organize, have easy access to them as well as protect them, he designed a vest with built in pockets to streamline the way these items are carried without having to resort to a special bag or purse and take up one of your precious “personal items” on the plane. Since 2000, the company has grown beyond just the vest and now has a wide selection of multi-pocketed clothing articles for men and women.
We received the Sterling Jacket for Women for review and I have never been so impressed with an article of clothing as I was when I started trying out this jacket from SCOTTeVEST. First, this jacket has the most pockets of any women’s jacket from their line with a grand total of 23. Yes, you read that right. This jacket has 23 pockets! From pockets in the sleeves to a pocket in the collar for your headphones, there is a spot for just about anything you can imagine!
With so many pockets, you might wonder how you could remember where everything is stored. There’s nothing like knowing you have a pen somewhere on your person, but being unable to find it! It seems that SCOTTeVEST has thought of everything. The interior jacket pockets have small embroidered symbols next to the zippers and pouches to not only let you know how they can be used, but also to help you locate said items at a moment’s notice.
In addition, SCOTTeVEST has created an “X-ray view” to model how the pockets can be utilized.
One of the great features of this particular jacket is that it has an iPad (or other tablet) pocket. Even after seeing it pictured on the X-ray view, I was still skeptical that an iPad could fit into a pocket. It was the first item that I put into one of the pockets just to see how it fit. Not only does it fit, it has a little room to spare! I am impressed.
I started imagining going out without a purse. This jacket could easily hold everything in a purse. Then, I started dreaming bigger and imagined going out without a diaper bag. Surely, this was a ridiculous notion, but I decided to try it out anyway.
I went to my diaper bag and pulled out everything that was inside it. Here are the contents (minus the trash) that I found: 1 baby change of clothes, baby jacket, snacks for mom and tot, 3 disposable diapers, 1 package of wipes, two small stuffed toys, a washcloth, Advil, mom’s wallet, a bib, a lightweight blanket, and a changing pad.
You probably will not believe this, but every item except the baby’s jacket fit inside the pockets of this jacket. I figured, if I was going out wearing a jacket, then the baby would probably have one on too, so no need to put it in a pocket anyhow.
Granted, once on my body, the jacket was a little bulky. However, if you think about how bulky it is to tote a diaper bag around and then put on a bulky jacket instead, I think you will appreciate how streamlined it will seem in comparison.
I really do feel that this is a remarkable jacket. Whether you are searching for a gift for a traveling techy or a minimalist mom, you won’t go wrong with clothing from SCOTTeVEST.
