I grew up watching The Jungle Book, and loving the Disney tale. I know all of the songs and frequently make my family listen to my renditions of them. When I heard that this classic cartoon, was getting a live action remake, I had mixed emotions. I mean, why mess with success? But, I have to admit I was a little excited to see what the film would be like.
This is one of those rare times that a remake can compete with the original. I was overly impressed with the quality of the film, as it is visually stunning, but I loved that this film with so few humans in it, could remain filled with humanity and emotion.

The Jungle Book (2016) is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Neel Sethi, Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson. The film is a great one to watch with the family, although there are moments that might be a little scary for younger viewers.
The film runs for just under 2 hours and features some amazing scenes, that make it evident that there is a lot of magic in the making of this movie! The film was released on dvd last month. I would highly recommend that you check this out with your family as it has a great plot and is beautifully presented. We have watched The Jungle Book 2 times now and my kids can’t get enough!
