Life of a Southern Mom was given the opportunity to review a product from Barbar. Barbar has been around since 2000 and has been providing salon professionals and also everyday consumers with the quality products that they really want. They have also been establishing themselves as a leader in hair care product innovation at the same time. Barbar produces and markets its own private label of personal hair care, electrical and non-electrical. Their philosophy is a very simple one. They want to provide the stylist and the consumer with incomparable quality products and customer service at the best price. They are headquartered in Beverly Hills, CA and have a warehouse in Valencia, CA.

Unlike other standard blow dryers that rely on a typical coil heating element the BARBAR ECO 8000 Blow Dryer is different. It is all because the coil heating system is really bad for your hair and can be very bad for the environment is well. I am sure that you are now asking yourself why it would be dangerous and I will explain. As I learned from the website, coil heat emits a measure of radiation that is comparable to that of a microwave. That’s pretty crazy when you think about it, right? It emits 200 milligauss or mG whereas the Eco 8000 only emits a very small 4.1 mG. This was astonishing to me when I read it because that is a major difference in what kind of damages you could potentially be doing when using just any standard hair dryer. This blow dryer has received lots of great reviews and is a great advancement in hair technology for today’s society. If you want to help out with the environment, why not start with the type of blow dryer that you use? It’s simple enough to make the switch and not a huge lifestyle change or anything.

The Eco 8000 uses an eco-friendly ceramic heating element and with the less mG it will save you 40% more electricity. Hey, that’s extra money in your pocket. It features an AC motor and is compatible with 110V-125V. Another great feature is that is offers multiple speed and heat settings. I know that on my blow dryer before this one I had the speeds but the settings for the heat were warm or cool. That was not much of a choice. It is nice to be able to adjust the heat settings to my liking. Speaking of the cool setting, the Eco 8000 features a cool shot release button. That’s pretty awesome! The heat setting on the dryer will get up to 310 degrees and so that makes for a pretty speedy drying of your hair. The cord is also impressively ten foot long and the dryer itself only weighs 1.5 pounds. This is by far one of the best blow dryers I have ever used and there is more. It comes with two air concentration nozzles, and I saved the best for last. The dryer is covered by a one year warranty. What other hair dryer do you know that has it’s own warranty? I don’t know of any. You will have to feel the power of this eco-friendly dryer to believe it for yourself.
