Life of a Southern Mom had the pleasure of working with BabyShusher. Baby Shusher LLC was founded by parents Chad & Katie Zunker. The Baby Shusher was inspired by their eldest daughter, Anna, who was a baby that would cry and cry. They tried everything to sooth her, but nothing seemed to work until the found the Shushing Method. Mom Katie’s shushing ability was no match for daddy’s. He decided to record himself shushing in a tape recorder. That small recorder was a life-saver. They knew they had a winner and had to do something. Thus, the innovative Baby Shusher was created to help other parents with the same issue.
I am currently dealing with a fussy baby. Some days he just cries and cries and cries. I walk him around, bounce him, and shush him until I’m blue in the face. What do I do in the car, in the mall, or on an airplane when he starts crying? I just have to deal. My poor ears and poor baby. It breaks my heart. Being a mom that has a baby that whines and cries for attention all day I can say that the Babyshusher has come to my rescue on many occasions.
The first time that I used the Babyshusher I thought it was a fluke. But, it really does live up to Its subtitle “the sleeping miracle”. My son was out like a light after a few moments of listening. Now when I’m in the car and he is fussing because I’m hitting every red light. I turn on the Babyshusher and he falls asleep. Even when we are in the store I will use it just so I can have a few more minutes to finish my shopping.
Baby Shusher Features:
Rhythmic Shush: This is a doctor-approved and thoroughly tested technique designed to break a baby’s cry spell and engage their natural calming reflex. The rhythmic shush reminds baby of being inside mom, where they were inundated 24 hours a day with loud sounds of blood flow and other in utero noises (up to 95 dBs, or the sound of a very loud vacuum cleaner). What may sound harsh at first is actually very calming to a baby. See Resources Page for more details.
There is a trick to using this nifty device. Your baby checklist must be completed: check the diaper and make sure he’s fed. If you’ve done these things and baby is still cranky then use the Babysusher. Baby will take a nice long nap, and depending on where you are you can take a snooze too! I definitely recommend the Baby Shusher to parents who have a little one who cries and cries. It is definitely worth checking out! Cheers to calm and happy babies!
